Canon John was ordained to the priesthood at St Mary's Cathedral in 1959, and is fondly remembered as a thoughtful, kind, learned and dedicated priest.
He served here in St. Margaret's from 1984-1989. Canon John retired in 2014 and latterly resided at Nazareth House in Bonnyrigg where he died peacefully after a short illness. He was 90 years old. His funeral takes place at St Bernadette’s, Larbert, on Thursday 19 December at 12pm.
