Last week Archbishop Cushley announced his wish to amalgamate the Parish of Holy Name, Oakley with St Margaret's, Dunfermline to form one parish. The full text of Archbishop Cushley's letter can be read by clicking here. The Church ln Oakley will remain open as a place of worship and Sunday Mass will continue to be celebrated there. This means that there will be one less Sunday Mass in St Margaret's than at present. The times of Masses will have to be worked out in consultation with Our Lady of Lourdes parish in order to provlde a choice of Sunday Mass times in Dunfermline.

The Parish Council met last Wednesday to discuss the situatlon and to plan for an open parish meeting to share your views, concerns and start to plan for the way ahead. This will take place on Thursday 7th June at 7pm, finishlng no later than 9pm, and will be held ln the Church. It would be very useful to have a rough idea of numbers who will attend thls meetlng. If you plan to attend please sign the list at the back of Church. If you are unable to attend and wish to make a point or raise a concern please email or wrlte to Fr. Heenan.
